Tallgrass Artist Residency | Founder & Lead Administrator

Originally designed as a partnership between the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, the Center for Living Education and the Bank Art Space (now Matfield Green Works), Matfield Station and the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, the Tallgrass Artist Residency has been hosting 8-10 artists in the small community of Matfield Green, Kansas since 2016. Now a partner program of the Kansas Arts Commission, the Tallgrass Artist Residency collaborates with community partners in Matfield Green, including the School for Rural Culture & Creativity, as well as venues across the Flint Hills region to host artist programs throughout the spring, summer and fall.

The residency prioritizes artists based in places that are ecologically prairie, forming a contemporary portrait of the ecoregion. https://tallgrassartistresidency.org/
